Recreate Work Space
Even though your are working from home, the work and working hours are still the same. The only thing that has changed is the work space environment. To be productive enough recreate a little space at the corner of your hall or convert study room to your work space.
Choosing a noise and distraction free space is the most important here. Another thing you need to do is to get a comfortable chair for working so that your posture remain in good position and you will be more active.
Be Professional Be Ready
Although, many of us are so happy that we need not to formally dress up and can start working even in our comfy pajama but this may lead us to be more lazy. Getting ready for work will help us create a feeling of working in office and will keep us active. It will also be helpful in attending untimely or sudden video conference or meeting without any hesitation.
Keep your Desktop PC, Laptop, Glasses, Charger, Pen, Diary, Phone and all other essential things well organized at your very new and little workspace. Don’t forget to check on network connectivity of your PC/Laptop. Good network connectivity and working PC/Laptop are the keys to provide 100% productivity while working from home too.
Follow Work Schedule
Don’t deviate from your work schedule just because you are at home and nobody is watching you. Keep your work schedule same as it was in office. Start your work exactly on office timing, take lunch, other breaks and off from work as per the schedule. Even if you are at home, you are still working with your team. If you deviate from the work schedule, it will halt the work of your teammates. So, stick to the office work schedule while working from home.
Be A Good Communicator
As you and everyone is in WFH zone and you can not communicate with anyone in person for sometime, so it is better to keep all the conversation through Email, Skype, Trello, Basecamp, Asana or other communication tools/mediums that your company is using. Setup a time for video meeting or conference call to attend and address the queries of your teammates/colleagues/office staff to avoid any miscommunication.
